Norman Donaldson has a letter his mother wrote back to her mother just after they arrived in Detroit. The letter is dated October 9th 1923 and is eight pages long closely spaced. It describes leaving Scotland at Greenock or Gourock, the ocean voyage, landing at Quebec Canada, a train voyage to Windsor Canada and through the train tunnel to Detroit.
